Stowmarket – Fatal collision on A14 |
||
|
A man has died following a road traffic collision on the A14 at Stowmarket.
Police were called at just after 4.20pm Sunday afternoon 16th November, to reports of a two-vehicle collision on the westbound carriageway.
A black Jaguar XJ Sport was involved in a collision with a MAN truck which was parked in a layby.
Fire and ambulance crews were also in attendance, but the driver of the Jaguar – a 70-year-old man – sadly died at the scene.
A female passenger in the Jaguar was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital having suffered a potentially life-changing leg injury.
The road was closed until 5.25am yesterday morning Monday 17th November to allow for collision investigation work to be completed and recovery of the vehicles.
Officers are appealing for any potential witnesses and asking any motorists driving in the area on Sunday afternoon with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle, to review the footage for any material that may be of assistance.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Joint Norfolk & Suffolk Serious Collision Investigation Unit, quoting reference: 37/65219/25.
